While we use the USAV age definition chart as a guideline it sometimes places girls at a level that doesn't match their grade in school. We want girls to tryout and play with girls in their grade. 

12U - 5th&6th, 13U - 7th, 14U - 8th, 15U - 9th, 16U - 10th.....

Club fees cover the cost of all training time, entry fees for all events (except nationals or any added season ending event) and coaches' salaries. Travel expenses for out-of-town events are not included in the fees. Families are responsible for their own travel and hotel expenses for those events. The uniform package (around $250) and USAV membership ($60) are not included in the fees.

Grade school teams will begin practices mid to late October. 

High school teams will begin practices in early November after high school season ends.

During the first few months of the season TAV practices 3 days a week. Once teams start competing in events teams practice twice a week. We do use school facilities, so our schedule sometimes varies based on gym availability.

TAV practice days for 13U & 14U are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. 13U & 14U alternate Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday one week then Wednesday, Friday, Sunday the next week alternating throughout the season.

12U, 15U & 16U practice Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday

For all teams the Sunday practices end once teams start competing. Because we use school facilities we sometimes will have alternate days such as Mondays or Wednesdays if there is a school event scheduled on our practice days that week.

The majority of TAV practices are held at Trinity High School but we do utilize other local schools as well on occassion. 

TAV understands and encourages young athletes to play other sports. It is our philosophy that school sports are priority, so we have no issues with girls missing practices for school sports. There are occasional times when school games coincide with TAV but with planning we can work around that. We do have a different view on other club sports. Just as the other club sport wouldn't want you to miss their sport for ours, we don't want you missing ours for them. That said we rarely have any conflict and if they are few, we can work around that. Many girls manage all their sports while playing TAV, without any issues.

Teams play around 16-22 tourney days depending on the team and level. The tentative tourney schedule can be found on the Home Page of our website. We have put together a very competitive schedule.

That schedule is subject to change but for the most part it will give you a good idea of our schedule.

Several events are local, but some teams travel a few times. Although the tourney schedule at this time does not show all teams traveling, we are planning on entering all teams in at least one out of town event.

We will have up to 4 teams at each level based on how many girls tryout. Teams are formed after about 6 weeks of practice. We use that time to get a thorough evaluation of all our players. 

We form our teams based on skill level at each position. For example- If we have 3 teams at 14U level we will have around 6 setters for the 3 teams. The top 2 setters based on our evaluation will be on the top team. Teams are- 1 Black, 2 Blue, 3 Blue. 

Players may get moved up or down at any point based on coaches' evaluation during the season

TAV will make entering a national event an option for our top teams. Entering Nationals is optional and is based on team interest. Entering nationals would be an extra expense and is not included in the club fees. Generally speaking, sending teams to nationals comes at an expense of about $500 a player which does not cover travel expense or lodging for the player or their family members.
